Group Learning Programs

"Everything worthwhile is done with other people."- Mariame Kaba, Organizer & Prison Abolitionist

Individual learning can only take one so far in their anti-racist journey. Cohort learning takes the abstract to application and helps participants grow personally and professionally together.

I host a number of group learning programs alongside my dear friend and colleague, Emerald Anderson-Ford, my co-founder in the Liberation Nexus Lab.

The Learning Circle

It is hard to articulate the benefits I’ve received in deeply participating in the community of practice developed and led by Erin and Emerald. Their commitment to advancing these values and their encouraging nature pushes us to consider the ramifications of our decisions and to lean into our privilege to pursue a better world for all. I am eager and feel empowered to continue my practice personally and to implement changes I can for a better and more inclusive world.

The Learning Circle is a community of practice (CoP) or cohort learning opportunity. A CoP is a group of people who share a common concern, a set of problems, or an interest in a topic and who come together to fulfill both individual and group goals.

CoPs often focus on sharing best practices and creating new knowledge to advance a domain of professional practice. Interaction on an ongoing basis is an important part of this. Many CoPs rely on face-to-face meetings and web-based collaborative environments to communicate, connect, and conduct community activities.

Who this Community of Practice is for:

This experience is for any group of people trying to build their muscles around thinking, talking, and actively integrating principles of justice, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility into their day-to-day lives and work.

We recommend groups of 10-30 individuals, all of whom are working closely together within an organization, specific sector, or within an established network.
